The Lady Gators defeated the Kentucky Wildcats 196.975 to 196.075 in front of a crowd of approximately 4,320 in the O’Dome Friday night.
Florida outscored Kentucky on vault, bars and floor, and the Wildcats, led by head coach Tim Garrison, beat the Gators on beam.
Kytra Hunter led the Gators on vault with an impressive 9.975, and the girls outscored Kentucky in the event 49.550 to 49.050.
On bars, Bridget Sloan scored an event high 9.975. Florida beat the Wildcats on bars 49.475 to 48.950.
The Wildcats outscored the Gators on beam 49.150 to 48.525.
On floor, Florida’s Ashanee Dickerson scored a high 9.900. The Gators scored 49.425 to Kentucky’s 48.925.
The Gators’ next meet is Friday, March 1 at 7:00 p.m. against Minnesota in the O’Dome.
