Florida, Florida State Battle To Wins In Orange Bowl Basketball Classic

On paper, it was going to be a light work day for both the Florida Gators and the Florida State Seminoles as they headed down to South Florida and play in front of their fans and alumni in the Orange Bowl Basketball Classic.

When it was said and done, both schools are counting their stars that they were able to leave the BB&T Center in Sunrise with victories.

In the opener, the Seminoles overcame a feisty Florida Atlantic Owls team … and some malfunctioning equipment … to get the five point victory:

Bacon would end up being the game’s MVP as voted by the media:

In the second game, the Gators returned to play in front of thousands of fans for the tenth straight year:

On the court, Florida had to fight a tough Cowboys team, taking the lead with some clutch shooting by several starters:

Dorian Finney-Smith would bring home the MVP award for the second game, a 72-70 win for the Gators:

The holiday week will be a light one for both schools. The Seminoles will host Charleston Southern on Monday afternoon, while the Gators will host Jacksonville on Tuesday.
