Penn State’s new football jerseys for 2013 college football season, a look at the minor changes

Last season, new Penn State head coach Bill O’Brien was given the task of changing the image of the Nittany Lions football program.

Coming off one of the most infamous scandals in American sports history, it wasn’t going to be an easy job, but O’Brien was up for the challenge.

He started the process by giving the historical Penn State football uniforms a face lift. Players names were given a spot on the backs of their jerseys. To fans outside of the program, it might not seem like a big deal, but it was a huge change.

This year, the Penn State uniforms will undergo another slight change. A Nittany Lions logo has been added to the front of the jersey, at the center of the collar. The Nike swoosh has also been relocated from the shoulder to the front of the jersey.

Minor changes in all, but still movement to create a new image surrounding one of the most prestigious football programs and universities in the country.
