Northern Illinois to wear American flag, blackout uniforms in two different games

The Northern Illinois Huskies have jumped onto the alternate uniforms bandwagon, but we will have to wait a couple more weeks before we see the new adidas threads in action.

UniWatch’s Paul Lukas reports the Huskies are set to wear new stars and stripes jerseys against fellow MAC power Ball State on Nov. 13.

The jerseys are mostly black, save for a very classy American flag design on the shoulders – blue with white stars grace the right side, while red and white stripes are featured on the left. The sleeves, neckline and shoulders boast a red border to match the watermarked numerals.

NIU is scheduled to host Western Michigan on Nov. 26, the program’s season finale. The way the season is shaping up, with the team sitting at a perfect 8-0, the Huskies could be playing for an at-large BCS bowl berth.

Northern Illinois will be sporting a slick new set of blackout uniforms for the contest, including a matte black and grey helmet with a large Huskies logo on the side.

Opposite of the American flag uniforms, the numbers are a light shade of grey, while the “Huskies” across the chest is red.
