Coffee County, Georgia is a place in the south central part of the state where people love their high school football. It’s also a place this week that showed the good in people.
Malik Sparkman, an eighteen year old rising senior at Coffee County High School, died last week after fighting a battle with kidney cancer. Sparkman, who was being recruited by several schools including Florida State, had one final wish as the end drew near: he wanted one more time to take the field at his school. Sparkman never got that chance while alive, but his teammates made sure to fulfill this wish before his funeral and memorial service.
Below is the video of the touching tribute and the service from the Coffee County Police Scanner page on Facebook:
WSB-TV in Atlanta posted the story for the world to see:
A touching tribute to a fallen teammate. Prayers to the Sparkman family and bravo to his teammates for fulfilling that final wish.
