Ed Orgeron Still Bitter With USC AD, Not Returning To Trojans

Just when it seemed LSU defensive line coach Ed Orgeron and USC were set to reunite, things fell apart.

Orgeron, the interim head coach for the Trojans in 2013 when Lane Kiffin was fired, was vying for a permanent gig after he went 6-2 in his temporary stint. USC athletic director Pat Haden instead hired Steve Sarkisian, which, well, ended pretty badly.

It’s this bitterness that is keeping Orgeron from returning to his stomping ground, according to insidesocal.com.

Earlier in the week, there were rumors swirling that Orgeron would return to USC as a defensive line coach. Some have posited that a shaky regime in LSU was enough to scare Orgeron off, but that no longer seems to be the case.

USC Head Coach Clay Helton, appointed less than a month ago, fired the team’s defensive back coach, defensive coordinator, defensive line coach and offensive line coach.
