It’s a welcome change for the Bulldogs, who’ve been hemorrhaging recruits ever since Georgia fired former head coach Mark Richt.
Dixon, a Suwanee, Ga. native, had more than 20 offers, among them Florida, Tennessee, Oklahoma and TCU.
But Athens, Ga. had that something special, according to 247sports.com who spoke to him.
“I felt like it was home,” Dixon said. “The feeling I got from the coaches is that Georgia is going to be the right spot for me to be successful. What [Head Coach] Kirby [Smart] plans to do with me really got me.”
