VIDEO: Notre Dame Locker Room Emotional After Win, Injury To Quarterback

For the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, it was an amazing moment that happened Saturday, when the then ninth ranked team in the land came back to win on the road at Virginia. They had to do so with a backup quarterback, after Malik Zaire went down in the third quarter with what would later be diagnosed as a season ending broken ankle.

Inside the locker room following the win, cameras from the team’s reality show broadcast weekly on Showtime captured head coach Brian Kelly’s emotional words to his team, telling them all how it’s about “next man up” with this year’s football team:

You don’t have to be a Notre Dame fan to get emotional when you see Zaire’s reaction to finding out he is done for the season. You feel nothing but bad for that kid, who worked his way into the starting spot this offseason after a solid showing to end the 2014 campaign.
