VIDEO: Virginia Tech Honors Frank Beamer In Final Home Game

Frank Beamer, the winningest and longest tenured active coach in Division 1 FBS college football, announced he would retire at the end of the season.

Beamer coached the Virginia Tech Hokies for 29 seasons and completely turned the program around, even making the school a national title contender. Come season’s end, Virginia Tech will be losing one of the biggest parts that held the football program together.

Frank Beamer has done so much for this team and so Virginia Tech released an awesomely emotional tribute video on Thursday for his final home game. The video highlights Beamer’s years of service as well as his playing career.

Beamer’s career record at Virginia is 235-120-2, which include three Big East titles, four ACC championships, and one trip to a national title game.

The legendary coach will lead his Hokies for the last time in Blacksburg as they host No. 17 North Carolina.
