Georgia Bulldogs running back and Heisman hopeful Todd Gurley has been indefinitely suspended from the team. According to the University of Georgia, Gurley is currently under investigation for alleged NCAA rules violation.
Georgia released the following statement on the situation:
University of Georgia tailback Todd Gurley has been indefinitely suspended from competition by the UGA Athletic Association during an ongoing investigation into an alleged violation of NCAA rules.
“I’m obviously very disappointed,” said UGA head football coach Mark Richt. “The important thing for our team is to turn all our attention toward preparation for Missouri.”

*UPDATE* Bruce Feldman reports that the investigation into Gurley is potentially due to extra benefits received for the running back’s likeness and memorabilia.
