Sometimes, you can indeed go home again. In the case of current (and technically former) New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes, it is possible to make a return.
Spikes made a not-so-subtle exit from his first time in Foxboro. After signing with the divisional rival Buffalo Bills before the 2014 season, Spikes said he was looking forward to giving his former team two losses each year and called his time with the Patriots “four years a slave”.
Yet, the Patriots still came calling this offseason, which saw Spikes make his return. When asked about how he and the administration, including head coach Bill Belicheck, are doing after those comments, Spikes dropped the mic with a great quote:
“I don’t really want to talk about that. We can clearly see that me and the Hoodie kissed and made up. I’m here, that’s in the past, and I’m moving on. That’s dead.”
“The Hoodie”! Love it! Accurate, yet a slight shot.
